Village of Mount Kisco Woodland Street Water Main & Drainage Improvements

Village of Mount Kisco, NY

AIE provided design and construction administration services for the installation of 1,225 linear feet of eight (8) inch diameter Class 54 cement-lined ductile iron water main, valves, hydrants, and water services on Woodland Street in the Village of Mount Kisco. This project required collaboration and coordination with Consolidated Edison and with the Village to replace the gas main in order to minimize the interruption of gas and water service. AIE has also provided design services on this project including necessary approvals from the Westchester County Department of Health (WCDOH). The project was completed in the summer of 2020.

Drainage improvements to Woodland Street were designed by AIE as part of this project. Improvements included the replacement of existing catch basins and piping as well as the extension of the existing system to provide adequate catchment for the entire length of the block.

This project involved funding from Westchester County through its CDBG program and as a result necessitated close coordination with County’s Planning Department to ensure compliance with all County requirements.

AIE was responsible for creating all construction drawings and technical specifications. AIE drafted and coordinated the publication of all bid documents. During construction, AIE was responsible for all construction administration and inspection duties. Upon completion, AIE oversaw all water main testing, certified the construction of the water main, prepared as-built drawings, and obtained the approval of completed works from the WCDOH.
