AIE as part of an on-call engineering services contract, provided civil engineering, and other related professional services to assist the City of Revere with the planning, design, and construction of various projects.

Walnut Avenue Drainage Improvements: AIE is preparing a survey for drainage improvements that can be made at the end of Walnut Avenue to intercept, collect and convey stormwater to the collection system in Arlington Avenue and alleviate drainage concerns on Walnut Avenue.

The City of Revere residents at the end of Walnut Avenue are experiencing drainage problems. Currently, the stormwater run-off sheet flows along the road gutter west and down toward a wooded area at the end of Walnut Avenue. Since there are no inlets to intercept, collect and convey stormwater run-off from the end of Walnut Avenue there is a potential for an icing ponding area at the west end of Walnut Avenue that develops.

The limit of detailed survey included the end of Walnut Avenue and Arlington Avenue and the side yards of 250 Walnut Avenue and 95 Arlington Avenue in the area of the proposed drain line. The boundary lines determined that two properties to support drainage improvements required easement plan preparation. The field survey included planimetric detail such as buildings, parking lots, curbs, fences, trees, and shrubs. Utility structures where visible, as well as pipe inverts, diameters, and materials on gravity systems (drain and sewer), where accessible, were also shown. Additionally, structure information (top of frames, inverts, pipe sizes, and pipe types where evident) only was be collected for the drain line extending from the end of Arlington Avenue to the drain line tie in running along North Shore Road.
