Buckram Road Bridge Replacement

AI is providing resident engineering and inspection services and oversight of the contractor’s daily work and verifying conformance with contract drawings, specifications, and relevant contract documents on this LIRR Design-Build project. This project includes the extension of the existing pocket track, improvement of drainage at the track level, and replacement of an existing bridge. Work includes raising tracks, earthwork, retaining walls, and drainage improvements.
AI staff directly reports to the LIRR Project Manager and acts as the on-site representative with respect to enforcing the daily coordination, quality of work, inspection, testing requirements, LIRR design guidelines, construction requirements, current industry practices, and federal regulations.
Buckram Road Bridge is a three-span steel structure carrying LIRR track over a busy local road. The bridge will be replaced with a new single-span steel structure.
The project includes significant earthwork, slope stabilization, drainage, concrete-encased electrical ductbanks, concrete spread footings, steel sections, reconstructed pavement, signage, and landscaping.
