NYCDDC Horizon Juvenile Center
AI is providing construction management and inspection services for the renovations of the existing 97,000-sf Horizon Juvenile Center located in Bronx, NY. The facility meets NY High Performance Building regulations. This facility's current capacity is 106 bedrooms and consists of a basement and two stories. The basement is comprised of mechanical rooms and controls, switch gear, and pumps; the first floor includes housing units, inpatient and outpatient medical units, kitchen and dining area for inmates, intake and admission area, administration offices, and education classrooms. The second floor includes housing units, administration offices, and education classrooms. There will also be two-story modular unit additions attached to the building (8,000 sf).
AI will coordinates the efforts and manage the construction process as the construction managers coordinating with the Administration of Children Services (ACS), Department of Corrections (DOC), New York Building Department (DOB), and NYC Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC). The construction personnel must work under the highest level of security, which requires a sophisticated coordination process.

- Gut renovations, which includes demolition of existing walls, modifying rooms use, wall hardening for bedrooms units, plumbing, HVAC, electric, and finishes.
- Partial renovations include wall hardening and some upgrades.
- Patch and paint, including finishes.
On top of construction management services, AI is also providing site safety inspections and material testing coordination.
