ConnDOT Reconstruction of Moses Wheeler Bridge
AI provided project survey of a 3.4 mile section of I-95 and associated side roads for this bridge replacement project. This assignment required establishing horizontal and vertical photogrammetry and project control, locating existing bridge piers, abutments and superstructure, as well as locating wetlands, soil borings and topographic survey for adjacent streets, including property and utility research and preparation of complete survey plans. Finally, AI coordinated with Ocean Surveys, Inc. to perform Bathymetric survey of the Moses Wheeler section of the Housatonic River. River bottom spot shots and contours were generated using GPS technology. AI survey also captured as-built borings in the Housatonic River at proposed bridge pier locations.
