AIE is providing design services in Bucks County, PA, on a 2-span, reinforced concrete T-beam bridge. On this project, we enhanced the as-inspected condition documentation process for these services by utilizing innovative technology methods to quickly collect data.

By using a laser scanner to capture the complete structure, our team was able to produce a 3D point cloud with accurate, measurable data.

This also facilitated capturing the as-inspected dimensions and conditions of the bridge to aid load rating analysis and formulate appropriate repair recommendations. The new design includes concrete repairs to the beams and deck, waterproofing membrane installation, a new bituminous wearing surface, concrete/masonry repairs to the abutments and pier, scour protection, and approach guide rail installation and end treatments.
