AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) welcomes Kazem Farhoumand, PE, as Vice President.

Kazem has a proven record of planning, design, construction, and materials testing on challenging projects of various complexities, including signature bridges, major interstates and highways, railroads, and train stations. For over three decades, he served as Chief Bridge Engineer and Chief Engineer with RIDOT. During this period, Kazem provided leadership and guidance to hundreds of professionals in bridge design and inspection, highway and traffic engineering, environmental research, claims management, project scheduling, property acquisitions, survey, and project scoping. His railroad experience includes extensive coordination with Amtrak and other railroad companies.

Kazem will provide leadership to AIE’s bridge and highway professionals and work closely with our regional offices in New England, including assisting with project management, quality assurance, and business development.

Kazem has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He has served on various AASHTO committees on bridges and structures as well as highway and traffic safety and is also a founding member of ACEC/RI.
